Forest Therapy is rooted in the practice of shinrin-yoku, which was developed in Japan in the 1980s by Tomohide Akiyama and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Shinrin-yoku. Shinrin-yoku translates to forest bathing, a practice that consists of a series of invitations to immerse oneself in nature and connect through our senses.
